All departments of the Seventh-Day Adventist church in the Inter-European Division (EUD) - Children’s Ministries, Education, Family Ministries, Health Ministries, Ministerial Association, Women’s Ministries, Youth Ministries - are joining forces to promote the enditnow initiative. The annual enditnow day is scheduled for August 25, the 4th Sabbath of the month of August. Some Unions prefer to have it on a Sabbath close to November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence).
The material for this day has just been released by the General Conference and contains the resource packet for enditnow Emphasis Day, August 25, 2018, Words That Wound: The Trauma of Emotional Abuse, written by Dr. Katia G. Reinert, Associate Director of GC Health Ministries, including a sermon and a seminar about emotional abuse as well as other suggestions for activities. You can find this material on the website under : http://women.eud.adventist.org/en/resources/ and http://women.eud.adventist.org/en/events/
We hope that with the cooperation of the various departments this topic will really be addressed in all our churches as it is high time to break the silence about abuse. Adventists say no to violence. Let us all join hands to end violence and to make our churches places where women and children can feel safe. The material will also be posted on the website in other languages as soon as the translations are ready.
