ENDITNOW SABBATH IN HAMBURG , GERMANY

WOMEN ADDRESS VIOLENCE AND ABUSE IN INTERNATIONAL CHURCH

This year’s enditnow Sabbath on August 24, 2019, the International SDA Church in Rahlsted addressed the topic of abuse and violence. The speaker was Petra Lolk.
There was also a story for our children. It was about two identical packages: (we had cornflakes) but the content ist not always the same. Yet both are useful and valuable!
We adults also got our money’s worth. We had a beautiful sermon and Petra showed us that already in Old Testament times abuse was rampant. How important and sensitive the topic is!
In the afternoon, we were again reminded of how narrow the border between abuse / verbal violence is, for example in a marriage. That was something we discussed in small groups.
Our adolescents also dealt with the topic "borders": when do I cross a border? This was discussed together.
Our little ones even performed a sketch for us!
It was a successful enditnow Sabbath. We were sensitized again to be more attentive and mindful with each other!
