Considering the horrendous and multiple facets of violence against women and children the Seventh-Day Adventist Church has appointed the fourth Sabbath in August worldwide as the day on which a special focus is laid on the prevention of violence and abuse. The Women's Ministries department prepares sermon material each year to be used in church services, speaking up against abuse. The church must be a safe place for women and girls. The 2016 material packet includes a Sermon "Learning to love as He loved", a sermon powerpoint, a Seminar on emotional healing as well as suggestions "What my my Church can do."
