Embroidery Workshop, on Wool Garments, in A Coruña, Spain

Fostering Friendship and Strengthening Community Ties

On Sunday, February 9, 2025, an embroidery workshop on wool garments was held at the facilities of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of A Coruña, open to the entire community. Its objective was to strengthen the social fabric of the community and raise awareness of the work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the area.

The event, which began at 10 a.m., brought together 23 women -from teenagers to senior citizens- who, motivated by the desire to learn new techniques and revive the charm of forgotten garments, gathered in a warm atmosphere.

The activity, led by Begoña G., sewing and embroidery teacher, and supported at all times by the experienced Tiziana G. and Daniela L., took place during three intense and creative hours in which each stitch was a step towards the reunion with tradition and the strengthening of community ties.

From the very beginning, the organization of the workshop focused on meeting two fundamental objectives: On the one hand, it was proposed to provide attendees with the necessary skills to customize and transform wool garments, even recovering those old sweaters relegated to the back of the closet. On the other hand, it was intended to foster bonding and friendship among the participants, highlighting the multiple benefits of embroidery to the participants.

Thus, the activity became a space to reduce stress, express creativity and enjoy a moment of tranquility in the company of like-minded people.
According to a report by Diego Fernando Angulo Castro, pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Spain.
