The Women’s Ministries leaders and team members from several German Conferences and the North and South German Unions put up a booth exhibiting the Girls4Christ project at the Youth Congress. Geared to reaching young women and providing information, the booth was also visited by young men. The material that was handed out (MiniCards, post cards, ballpoint pens and wrist bands) found grateful recipients. The exhibit staff was ready to take time to converse with visitors in depth.
The visitors of the booth also had the possibility of engaging in a creative project. Staffers explained the art of “Bible Art Journaling,” and the young people had lots of material to choose from. With crayons, paper, glue etc. they were able to create art works depicting Bible verses. Bible Art Journaling is a special way of concentrating on Bible texts and internalizing their meaning. This time at the creative table, with conversations about faith, questions arising from life and the future was something both the participating young people as well as the team valued end enjoyed. In the midst of all the input from the congress this was a good place to talk and where peace and balance was restored.
As a team we are grateful for the encounters and the contacts at the booth. Once more we realized what an important part of our mission Girls4Christ is becoming, particularly in mentoring our girls and young women. We are grateful for the whole congress program, the spoken word, the sketches, the praise time and all of the other things that were presented in such a professional way. It was a really blessed time.
