Once again, the Care Platform leaders visited a church to present their program to the local church membership – this time it was the turn of the Horeb Adventist Church in Madrid where they were welcomed with much joy and gratitude. The Women’s Ministries and Health Departments of the Adventist church in Spain address the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health needs of women through the Care Platform. Since its start in July 2023, many churches have already profited from this important program, and more visits to local churches are scheduled.
It is well known that women play a crucial role as caregivers in our society, whether at home, in the workplace, or the community. It is easy to see how, throughout history, they have taken on the responsibility of caring for others and have developed skills and qualities that enable them to perform this role with excellence. The value of women as caregivers is immeasurable. Their ability to connect emotionally, communicate effectively, organize and manage time, adapt to changing circumstances, and build meaningful relationships makes them fundamental pillars of society. Recognizing and valuing their work is crucial for the well-being of those who receive care and for fostering a more just and equitable society. However, the risks faced by women as caregivers should not be overlooked. It is necessary to highlight the importance of addressing these issues to ensure their safety and well-being. Aware of this situation, the Care Platform specifically addresses the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health care and self-care needs of women at all stages of their lives.
