The congregation of the Adventist Church in Alenza, Madrid, enjoyed a wonderful event from September 15 to 17, 2023, that will undoubtedly be remembered for a long time. "Care Platform" was the name chosen by the Women’s Ministries team, who carefully planned each activity.
At the start of the weekend on Friday, Dr. Sarai de la Fuente addressed, from a biblical point of view, important details about self-care and its importance through the character of Martha.
God’s Representatives
On the Sabbath, the director of the Women's Ministries Department in Spain, Mercedes Martinez, invited us to get to know the God who is coming for us very soon. She also reminded us that we are His representatives to others.
After lunch, in which the whole church shared, the different presentations continued. All focused on care, welfare, and help, not only to ourselves but also to other people.
We enjoyed the presentation by Maya Mercier, who explained the functions of a social worker; and Sara Hernandez, an Equality technician, who addressed the roles of women in today's world.
Of course, there was also a space for the men with conversations about family, health, and its care. At another time, Elizabeth Sandoval spoke about stress, a very important topic in our days.
Finally, on Sunday, there was a delicious breakfast in which the women enjoyed conversations, dynamics, reflections, and how together we can be supportive of each other.
Support from Adventist Possibilities Ministries
It is important to note that the entire event was accompanied by Possibilityies Ministries. The whole program was transmitted for the hearing impaired through sign language. We thank God for these activities that undoubtedly help us to know the God who loves us and invites us to know him through his word.
