Basic Course in Hand-lettering Creates Enthusiasm

Creative Encounter in Offenburg

On Sunday, October 28, 2018, the Women’s Ministries Department of the Baden-Württemberg Conference invited women and girls to a creative day of encounter. About 30 participants were attracted by the topic “Hand-lettering”. After a sumptuous brunch and a touching devotional about mastering challenging life situations the participants were introduced to hand-lettering in a basic course. They were then free to practice what they had learned in various projects: on canvas, blank Bible covers, cups, cards, notebooks etc.). Many gifts with spiritual messages were prepared by the participants to be given to friends. Some of the participants had come from outside the church and participated enthusiastically.
The idea to take advantage of the present Hand-lettering hype and integrate it into the activities of Women’s Ministries has been worth it – even before the day was over requests were received to organize similar events in a public school, a church school and two local churches represented by participants. We are grateful to God who blessed the effort and we are curious to find out how the project will spread out.
