"Windows to the Future" is a continuation of ADRA's "I Want to Go to School!" and "Child's Dream" projects and was born out of a desire to maintain constant contact with beneficiaries and their families throughout the school year. Through this project, ADRA Romania aims not only to support the formal education of children, but also to contribute to their development as balanced, empathetic, and responsible individuals.
In a social context where children are increasingly exposed to isolation, technology addiction, and a lack of healthy role models, ADRA's "Windows to the Future" project is a concrete and necessary response to the need to create safe, friendly, and inspirational spaces where they can grow harmoniously—emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Here, children discover the joy of learning through play, collaborating, expressing their talents, and feeling part of a community that encourages, supports, and offers them authentic role models.
Through this project, we also aim to increase the resilience of children from vulnerable families so that they can cope with personal and social challenges, as well as the marginalization generated by belonging to disadvantaged groups.
The project began last year in Arad as a pilot project, and will be implemented in other locations for the 2025–2026 school year. The target group for the project consists of children from vulnerable backgrounds, but some of their parents also participate in the activities.
