Almost Home

Recommended Reading: Women’s Devotional Book for 2026

The new Women’s Devotional Book 2026 is now available. This is the 34th book in the series of devotionals written by women for women since this project was started in 1992 by Rose Otis, the first General Conference director of Women’s Ministries. She began a scholarship fund for women in college who need a little financial help. A portion of the proceeds will support higher education for women globally.
This edition will connect you day by day with women who live, love, and grow in faith in the different corners of our global home.
When Jesus walked beside the Twelve, He saw their weariness and understood their sense of being overwhelmed. Life in Palestine was hard under the rule of the Roman Empire, and their spiritual leaders burdened them by exacting unnecessary requirements.
Jesus knew their weariness and promised, “I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
He knew they longed for Home and vowed, “I will come again) (John 14:3).
Not much has changed over the intervening centuries. We are weary. Life is hard in today’s polarized political climate. There is nothing this prodigal planet can offer to satisfy our deepest needs or fulfill our dearest hopes.
But God’s promises still stand. He gives rest to the weary and reminds us we are almost home!
“In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay” (Hebrews 10:37).
So, as women of faith, “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise” (Hebrews 10:23).
“I will bring you home” (Zephaniah 3:20).
We are almost home!
