If you were offered an all-expense-paid trip to anywhere in the world, where would you want to go? That thought came to mind one morning as I was getting ready to go to church. I tried to think of places I’d like to see. Alaska? Switzerland? England? Florida? Not being much of a traveler, I couldn’t think of any place I really wanted to go. Just being home sounded good to me.
Home! That’s when the thought came to me.
I already have an all-expense-paid trip to go to a place I've never been. There is no brochure. Instead, it has so many features that a whole Book was written about it. The perks for this trip are wonderful! I can invite anyone to go with me: family, friends, neighbors. Anyone! It is going to be the best trip I’ve ever been on. Definitely not a trip I want to miss. And what’s amazing is that though the cost is very high, it’s already been paid. The only thing I have to do is be ready to go. No packing. Clothing will be provided. We will be given robes and crowns. Treated like royalty. No reservations to make either. That, too, is taken care of. The Book says that we’ll stay in beautiful mansions. No worries about meals either, or where to eat – and no tipping needed. Everywhere you go there you will find fresh fruit and vegetables.
A King reigns at this destination. We can visit with Him, walk and talk with Him. We can ask Him questions. I’m sure we’ll all have a lot of questions.
I don’t know the time of departure. But the Book says the only thing I have to do is to be ready when the time comes so I don’t miss the flight. I understand that friends I haven’t seen in a long time will be going, and even family members who’ve been away for years. My anticipation is growing all the time. I can’t wait! Oh, I read of the joy and excitement we’ll have when we get there, for this beautiful, happy place will be our home forever.
Since I can invite others to go with me, I’m inviting you. You, then, can invite your family, friends, and neighbors to come too. It’s almost time to go home. It’s time for Jesus to come. Don’t miss the flight. Is everybody ready? Are you?
