Alenza celebrates International Women's Prayer Day

Lessons from the Past

On Sabbath, March 2, 2024, the Madrid-Alenza Adventist Church celebrated International Women's Day of Prayer with a reflection on some women of the Bible.

In the Sabbath School groups, testimonies were given of how those present were greatly blessed during the week. The study for the week was entitled "Lessons from the Past," a journey through the book of Psalms. It showed us the faithfulness of the Lord, remembering the history through time, and called us to always praise Him for His great mercy. The Psalms are a powerful testimony of God's faithfulness to his people.

Amalia Reta shared the central reflection, entitled "An Unshakable Faith. It was a reflection on prayer and faith, as basic pillars that must be present in our lives if we want to have a full spiritual life. She reminded us that prayer has a lot of power and we should never stop praying. We can be sure that God never abandons us and will help us to keep faith and hope as a support in difficult moments. Anyone who has faith has everything; and those who lose faith, lose everything.

Prayer Walk

In the afternoon, a biblical activity entitled "Prayer Walk" began, the second part of this special celebration. A large group of women, men, youth, and children were able to enjoy nourishment from the stories of women of the Bible who encouraged us to surrender and entrust our lives to God. Stories like those of Anna, Priscilla, Deborah, Dorcas, Ruth... Women with similar situations of waiting, calling, guidance, and a mission entrusted by God. Stories that inspire us and invite us to keep our trust and hope in God. The activity was divided into prayer sessions and musical parts. The Women’s Ministries group wants to continue motivating the members to be witnesses of the power of prayer and to develop an unwavering faith.
