250 women from Germany, Austria and Switzerland spent the weekend from September 21-24, 2017, on the campus of the Adventist theological university of Friedensau in the North German Union at a Women’s Ministries congress. Highlights of the multifaceted congress program were interesting workshops, messages by the speakers Sonja Kalmbach, a pastor from Sweden and Raquel Arrais, associate director of Women’s Ministries at the General Conference as well as a concert with Christian songwriter and singer Sefora Nelson. Under the motto “Encounter becomes Enthusiasm” Sonja showed how much an in-depth study of the encounter of Jesus with the woman at the well can mean to women today. Raquel showed in a very memorable way how God wants to replace our rags with a new dress of His righteousness. The devoted and talented music team inspired the women to sing God’s praises with beautiful voices. One special treat was the new Adventist Women’s Bible in German that each participant received as a gift funded through donations by individuals as well as church entities. 10 women received certificates from Andrews University for the completion of the 3 levels of the leadership certification courses. The feedback from the participants was overwhelming and we thank God for all the blessings received.
