Adventist Church Elects Departmental Leaders for 2025–2030 Term

Four Departments headed by women

As part of the 62nd General Conference Session, the Seventh-day Adventist Church has announced the election of departmental directors who will serve the world church for the 2025–2030 quinquennium. These leaders will oversee global ministries including education, health, youth, family, communication, stewardship, women’s ministries, and more. Each of the departments plays a vital role in advancing the church’s mission around the world. Through their leadership, the Adventist Church seeks to support local fields, empower ministry leaders, and serve communities in diverse cultural and regional contexts.
Four departments are headed by women.
Orathai Chureson, Children’s Ministries director
Alyssa Truman, Communication director
Lisa M. Beardsley-Hardy, Education director
Galina Stele, Women’s Ministries director
While we are happy that women have been appointed as directors for departments that are not typically "women's business," there are more departments that used to be headed by women in SDA history and are not necessarily a men's domain. We are thankful for the ministry and service of these women.
