On the International Women's Day on March 8 we are reminded by ADRA Germany that more than a quarter of the 60 million refugees in the world are women and girls between the age of 15 and 49 years. They flee war and destruction, but also genital mutilation, forced marriages and violence. It is often very dangerous and they risk oppression and sexual violence during their flight. Girls and women should find better protection. ADRA helps refugees on their way with clothes, food and sanitary products but also provides psycho-social care on their way through the Balkan countries. ADRA is also working to keep girls safe in Kenya and Thailand. According to a report by ADRA Germany
