On a sunny Sunday morning, March 3, full of eager anticipation, I join 50 other women from all over Switzerland who stream into the Wolfswinkel church. Uf mich luege - what can I expect there? Is it about self-optimization or even an ego trip? After a relaxed welcome with coffee and croissants and praise together, we dive right into the topic with Gabriela Sigg.
Self-care means that I deal with myself. How do I deal with myself when I am stressed, anxious, or at my limits? What do I need then? Why am I often loving with others and so strict with myself? Self-kindness recognizes that we are not perfect and don't have to be. God encourages us to live in a caring and benevolent way with ourselves, with our body, our life rhythm, our thoughts, and emotions - courageously, curiously, creatively, and enjoyably!
Three practical workshops invite us to do just that. With Evelyn Grunder, we will learn an upright posture and relax our fasciae throughout the body. A gift massage ring for the fingers lets our hands relax comfortably.
"Show us your feet" is the motto of the next workshop. Under the expert supervision of Gyöngy Kovac, we rasp our feet with lots of laughter before massaging them with a homemade scrub made from sugar, coconut oil, poppy seeds, and essential mint oil. We walk like on clouds to Gabriela Sigg's workshop. Using inspiring impulse cards from the "self-care treasure chest" and a "driver’s test", we get to the bottom of our inner beliefs. Discussing questions such as "What are my sources of strength in everyday life?", "The best way to deal with pressure to perform is...", and "Which times are precious?" is exciting and brings us closer together.
With a "pocket note" on which we write down our personal self-care instructions for the coming days and weeks, I return to my everyday life motivated. Think big - start small! THANK YOU for this all-around successful self-care day!
