A few weeks ago, Deborah Giombarresi received her bachelor's degree from the Adventist Faculty of Theology in Florence, Italy, after successfully defending her thesis entitled "A 'Gender' of Violence. End It Now and Gender and Domestic Violence in the Adventist Church."
Deborah, who is already a psychologist and psychotherapist, spoke about the ambivalent relationship that can be found within Christian communities on the issue of gender-based violence. She highlighted the biblical elements that help counter domestic violence, what the Adventist Church is doing to combat this phenomenon, and how much more could still be done.
On March 24, in Florence, Deborah will be one of the speakers at the meeting on "I, Victim of Femicide. When Silence is Complicit in Crime." The event will open the 13th Congress of FDEI, the Federation of Evangelical Women, in Italy.
