On Sabbath, November 22, 2025, the Adventist Church in Alicante, Spain, actively joined the global “End It Now” movement, an initiative of the Seventh-day Adventist Church dedicated to the prevention and eradication of violence, especially gender-based violence. This day reminded the entire congregation that, as an institution and as a spiritual family, we are called to protect and dignify vulnerable people.
A message focused on resilience
The Women's Ministry led the morning service, drawing on reflections and teachings from renowned Adventist author Julián Melgosa, whose research on emotional health, spiritual coping, and inner healing was a key inspiration throughout the morning. His writings added depth to the message, especially when addressing the topic of resilience, the ability to get back up with God's help even after going through difficult experiences.
During the sermon, the examples of Carmen and Miguel were shared, stories that illustrated how, even in the midst of pain, faith, community support, and trust in Christ can open paths to restoration. These stories touched the hearts of those in attendance, inviting us to look at life with compassion and to recognize the value of those who persevere despite adversity.
A special call and a shared hymn
The day culminated with a special call to the women and girls of the church, inviting them to reaffirm their decision to follow Jesus. It was deeply moving to see how many of them approached the pulpit with determination and hope.
Together, they sang the hymn “Never Give Up,” while husbands, fathers, brothers, and friends watched with tenderness and affection, capturing with their photographs a moment that symbolized living faith and shared commitment. The scene reflected the beauty of a community that accompanies, prays for, and strengthens one another in Christ.
A renewed commitment
That Sabbath was etched in the church's memory as a reminder that all of us—men and women—are called to be instruments of peace, support, and healing. In the spirit of “End It Now,” the Church in Alicante reaffirms its commitment to speak out, act with love, and promote safe environments where every person can grow with dignity and in the grace of the Lord.
