26 years of Women's Ministries in Spain

Special Program on March 5, 2022

Women's Ministries will celebrate 26 years of activities on the Women’s International Day of Prayer by sharing a national program on the YouTube channel of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Spain on March 5 at 6 pm. The program will include information about the origins of this wonderful ministry and some of the pioneers will be participating. These women were aware of the needs of Christian women and passionately embraced the project of working on their behalf. Some of them had leading roles, others worked in less visible positions but had an equal influence on the women around them. Thus others were motivated by their enthusiasm to serve while discovering the great potential of women.
Working groups were created, activities were organized that had not been developed before that joined women together in spaces where they could share common interests. All were, in some way, used by the spirit of God and guided by the Lord to be a blessing.
These were the pillars of the ministry which developed as time passed, with many other women joining forces. The new leaders had the same vocation to serve and were just as willing to join the project in whatever form the Lord called them to do.

Gladys and her prayer group of more than 70 women.

Among them we find Gladys. A woman who, even before becoming a church member, and out of love for the Lord, provided support to migrant women who were alone. The fact that she gave them a space to talk and pray for their needs in her own home, awakened the interest of other women to share the love and attention they received from Gladys. Today there is a group of more than 70 women from different congregations led by this courageous woman.

The ministry developed by Gladys awakened the interest of the City Council of the place where she lives. The city leadership offered to provide her with a meeting place, thus becoming a living testimony of how love in action and solidarity among women, restores the lives of other women.

Several of these women will join us on March 5 to share with us the experiences gained through service to women, sustained by faith and prayer.

Young women between the ages of 7 and 15 will also be participating, telling us about their relationship with prayer, their needs and concerns, and the resources they find in our church communities. All of this will be enhanced by uplifting musical performances by Christian women.

For all these reasons we invite you to join us and enjoy this special online program this March 5th at 6:00 p.m. Celebrate with us 26 years of Women’s Ministries!
