Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”
Acts 3:6, NIV
Sometimes in life we have low self-esteem. We believe that we are insignificant and that we have no value, that we have nothing to offer. But let’s look at Peter’s example.
Peter was a simple man, a fisherman, but in the company of Jesus, he became a man full of talents given to him by the Holy Spirit.
Like Peter, we can each have all the talents and gifts that God can give us through His Spirit. We should not feel inferior even if we have less money or less education or less success than other people.
The only thing the Lord expects from us is that we be brave and use those gifts to help others. That in turn will fill us with joy and we will develop more talents.
Talents are given by God according to His will. We all have at least one, so we shouldn’t feel inferior to others, because like Peter, we too can be humble but be filled with the Holy Spirit and do great things.
“And He (Christ) Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God” (Ephesians 4:11-13, NKJV).
Spend time with God and He will fill you with His Holy Spirit.
